Please join us on April the 24th for the opening night of “the Gathering” 2012. On display will be a collection of hand crafted photographs, mostly printed by the photographers themselves from the surrounds of Trentham, Victoria.
For many years now, 25+ photographers gather at Gold Street Studios along with their large format cameras, ranging from 4’x5″ up to 20″ x 24″ in size and spend the weekend out on the town and beyond. Chris Reid from Blanco Negro is the lab rat, spending most of Saturday in the darkroom processing the films for Sunday’s slideshow. The weekend is in the sprit of learning, with many old hands teaching the new and so much knowledge shared it’s almost scary.
Hopefully a few of the NSW artists will be able to join us and a copy of the book will also be on display. A few nibbles and refreshments will also be provided and of course the catching up in the darkrooms too. And this post even includes the artist’s © credit!
